Upper extremity orthotics are braces that support the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. Upper extremity orthotics can be used for a variety of applications, including stability, support to aid with activities of daily living (ADL’s).
Conditions that may require bracing, but not limited to are wrist sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome, thumb instabilities, contractures, elbow instability/fractures, shoulder instability/fractures.
There are three categories of bracing:
- Positional Support
- Soft Supports
- Fracture Supports

- Thumb Spica
- Elbow Immobilizer (static and dynamic)
- Shoulder Immobilizer (static and dynamic)
